  3. Package Options</A>

  5. Most of the options to the <#52#>color<#52#> package just specify a
  6. driver, e.g. |dvips|. You should to set up a site default for these
  7. options, for the driver that you normally use. Suppose that you wish for
  8. the <#53#>color<#53#> package to always default to use specials for the
  9. PostScript driver, |dvips|. In that case create a file |color.cfg|
  10. containing the line:

  14. One special option that is of interest is |monochrome.|
  15. If this option is selected the colour commands are all
  16. disabled so that they do not generate errors, but do not generate colour
  17. either. This is useful if previewing with a previewer that can not
  18. produce colour.

  21. Three other package options control the use of the <B>named</B> model.
  22. The |dvips| driver (by default) pre-defines 68 colour names. The |dvips|
  23. option normally makes these names available in the <B>named</B> colour
  24. model. If you do not want these names to be declared in  this model
  25. (Saving T<SMALL>E</SMALL>X some memory) you may give the |nodvipsnames|
  26. option. Conversely, if you are using another driver, you may wish to
  27. add these names to the named model for that driver (especially if you
  28. are processing a document originally produced on |dvips|). In this case
  29. you could use the |dvipsnames| option. Lastly the |usenames| option
  30. makes all names in the <B>named</B> model directly available, as
  31. described below.
